This device is primarily designed for controlling the Mixer (MixConsole) section in most DAW software. It also excels at real-time MIDI CC input — for example, drawing string expression curves in Cubase. Common applications include adjusting track volume, left/right panning, knob parameters, and controlling supported MIDI-compatible plugins. When using the device to control specific MIDI CC messages — such as inputting CC data or drawing string expression curves in Cubase — you must assign specific MIDI CC numbers to the physical knobs.
The MIDIC4 MIDI controller supports modifying its outgoing MIDI CC messages via software. The device has internal memory, so configured settings are automatically saved after being written.
First, download the configuration utility:
The software is available in both macOS and Windows versions. Please select the correct version for your operating system.
Enter the Hardware ID, Message Type, Channel, and Controller Number, then click the Set button. Wait a moment for the configuration to complete.
Important: Close all music software before configuring to prevent the device from being occupied, which may cause the setup to fail.
MidiView MonitorWe strongly recommend using a MIDI monitoring tool — or verifying within your DAW — to confirm that the configured CC numbers are correct. This provides real-time visual feedback of the MIDI messages being transmitted.
Since simply configuring the device does not provide visual feedback, this tool allows you to see in real time whether the MIDI messages are being set correctly.
This software supports both macOS and Windows.
Windows Note: Ensure the MIDI device is not already in use by another application when launching the monitor.
Note: Full lighting control is only supported on the MIDIC4MINI model. The MIDIC4MAX (large format) model does not support software-based lighting configuration via this method.
The parameter configuration for disabling the LEDs is shown below:
Device Model: Keep as default for MIDIC4MINI.
Hardware ID: Enter 42. This is the control address for the LEDs on this model.
Message Type: Set to Note Off to turn LEDs off, or Note On to turn them on.
Controller Number: Maps to brightness (0–127). Adjust this value to control the intensity of the yellow backlighting.
0 will turn off the yellow backlight while keeping the red/green indicator LEDs active.Channel: No specific requirement (any value 1–16 is acceptable).
Legacy Hardware: LED control address is 42.
Current Hardware: LED control address is 5.
42100 (Example for max brightness).0 turns off the yellow backlight but retains the red/green indicator LEDs.
